Chain Bolts

Chain bolts- available in three sizes and two finishes

The chain bolts in the brass finish are made from solid, cast brass. The chain bolts in the powder coated black are made from cast iron. These chain bolts are designed to go at the top of the stationary door, shutter, or window when there are pairs of doors, shutters, or windows.  We highly recommend you use these with a kick bolt (or bottom bolt) to prevent warping of your door. Chain bolts are spring activated and not recommended for use on single doors.

The small bolts have the following measurements:

The bolt body measures 1-3/8 ” wide and 2-1/2″ tall, the tongue sticks out 1/2″ from the body of the latch, and the chain measures approximately 24″. The bolt comes with two strike plates- one measuring 1-5/16″wide and 1-7/8″ deep: meant for use when the door is flush with casing, and one measuring 2″ wide and 7/8″ deep: meant for use when the bolt will strike the casing.

The medium bolts have the following measurements:

The bolt body measures 1-5/8 ” wide and 3-13/16″ tall, the tongue sticks out 5/8″ from the body of the latch, and the chain measures approximately 24″. The bolt comes with two strike plates- one measuring 1-5/16″wide and 1-7/8″ deep: meant for use when the door is flush with casing, and one measuring 2″ wide and 7/8″ deep: meant for use when the bolt will strike the casing.

The large bolts have the following measurements:

The bolt body measures 1-3/4 ” wide and 5-5/8″ tall, the tongue sticks out 3/4″ from the body of the latch, and the chain measures approximately 22″. The bolt comes with two strike plates- one measuring 1-7/8″wide and 2-3/8″ deep: meant for use when the door is flush with casing, and one measuring 2″ wide and 7/8″ deep: meant for use when the bolt will strike the casing.
