    Embossed Kick Bolts

    Embossed kick bolts- available in two sizes and two finishes

    The embossed kick bolts in the brass finish are made from solid, cast brass. The embossed kick bolts in the powder coated black are made from cast iron. These embossed kick bolts are designed to go at the bottom of the stationary door, shutter, or window when there are pairs of doors, shutters, or windows.  We highly recommend you use these with a chain bolt (or top bolt) to prevent warping of your door.

    The small bolts have the following measurements:

      The bolt body measures 1-7/8 ” wide and 5-1/16″ tall, the tongue sticks out 1/2″ from the body of the latch when activated. The bolt is designed to be operated with your foot, the large button at the top activates it and the small button on the face deactivates it. The bolt comes with two strike plates- one measuring 1-7/8″wide and 2-3/8″ deep, and one measuring 2″ wide and 7/8″ deep.

    The large bolts have the following measurements:

    The bolt body measures 2 ” wide and 7-1/16″ tall, the tongue sticks out 3/4″ from the body of the latch when activated.     Shutter Catches. These typically mount at the bottom of the shutter and latch to the sill of the window. These can only be used when you can open your window and access the rear of your shutters. The set comes with one latch an one catch, you will need two sets for each pair of shutters. Both pieces are made of cast iron. We recommend you prime and paint these before installation and screw them in with a screwdriver by hand, not with a drill. These do not come with screws.

    Brass Through Shutter Latch

    Brass Through Shutter Latch. These solid brass shutter latches are polished and lacquered to prevent immediate tarnish. They are intended to be mortised through the bottom of the shutter and hook to their keeper mounted on the window sill. When open they connect to a keeper mounted on the exterior of the home. These latches take the place of both dogs and slide bolts. These latches are meant for use on shutters 1-3/8" thick or less.  Each kit includes the latch, a plate for the rear of the shutter, a keeper for the sill, and a keeper for the wall. One kit will do a single shutter, you will need two kits for each window.

    The latch itself (the part that goes through the shutter) measures 2-3/8" at the top and 1-15/16" at the bottom

    The pull (the piece that you would operate) measures-1-1/4" tall and projects out 2" at the most (latch is 1-3/8" from the plate)

    The plate connected to the latch is 2" wide and 1-1/2" tall

    The plate that goes on the rear measures 1-3/8" tall and 1-1/2" wide

    The sill keeper (looks like bottle opener) is 1-3/4" deep and 1" wide

    The wall keeper (L shaped) is 1-1/16" tall, 15/16" wide and projects 1" from the wall
